Cabaret Venues in NYC Feb 13 2007, 04:24:08 PM
I am looking for a venue to put on a self devised cabaret with 4 people, we are all going to be performers in the International Fringe Festival hitting new york this year in a new musical from the UK. but thought we'd make the most of opportunity and put on the cabaret as well, if anyone can think of a good venue i can look into please let me know.. Thank you very much With Kind Regards Simon

make them hear you from ragtime is awsome.... some new/obscure musicals have alot to offer as well, such as bush is bad

what do you think would qualify for this accolade? personally i don't think you can beat the classics but some things come very close.

re: Urinetown Feb 15 2006, 06:24:40 PM
don't think i explained myself properly, i know it's a parady of musical theatre in general with strong Kurt Weill influences, but each song has a relevance to a specific musical, sometimes more. even the staging i believe is intended to mimic other musical such as the bottle dance in fiddler. i'm working on a few songs from Urinetown, but being in England i can't go to see it to help me out. but thanks anyway
