re: Aida Revival?
 Apr 10 2007, 02:02:00 AM
I saw this show a few years back with a professional cast, and it was fabulous. In my opinion, "Another Pyramid" is VERY crucial to the show. Yes, the dance break was long, but it's a musical -- you do need flashy numbers every now and again, in a lot of shows. Plus, the point is that each song is a different genre -- "My Strongest Suit" is Popish, "Another Pyramid" is Rock-esque, so on and so forth. So, that's my opinion on the matter.

I think that a revival of this could be potentiall

Wow. Sniffing coke -- that's really not good to sit there and watch. I'd be really distracted, and frankly that's not what you need in a theatre...

I went to see Phantom of the Opera, and someone tapped me on the shoulder during intermission and asked when Rent was starting. I was too horrified to reply.

Megan Hilty is wonderful. I saw her the first time I saw Wicked (Sadly, I didn't get to see the OBC) and she has such a lovely voice. I agree about Kate, though. I've heard she's wonderful.

Oh man, I heard that. I was shocked to hear it. Plus, he didn't even look the part - when in Rent, he looked exactly the same as he does in every other picture of him. It's rather irritating.

I wish I could see Nine as well. I've always wanted to see Chita Rivera live. My favorite song is 'Folies Bergeres.' I tend to go for those weird/fast songs.
re: Does anyone have a broadway themed room in their house?

In my room at my mother's, it's totally theatre-fied. I have various posters, pictures from shows I went to, and albums framed. I also have books -- Wicked, Rent, The Grimmerie -- randomly placed throughout the room. I might be getting a poster of Times Square or NYC for my father's as well.

I was suprised to see that he went to the Drowsy opening. He was also at the Rent 10th season celebration, when the original cast did the whole thing onstage again. He was Roger in Rent -- perhaps he's looking to do something else. It's unexplainable.

I can't figure out why Kellie would date him, either. I didn't like him much on Idol.

re: What show are YOU currently working on?

I just finished up Pirates of Penzance. I worked backstage for that -- assisted the Props Mistress.
re: Ticket Dilemma

I'd take the Drowsy tickets. You say you saw Spelling Bee -- so why not see something new? Plus, I agree with you. I'm thinking Drowsy will be a major part of the Tony's as well. I always like to be caught up with those things.
