Look at Marlene Danielle who was in the Broadway production of Cats for the whole 18 years it ran. Maybe he just loves his paycheck, plus it can't bee too bad fighting the green goblin AND singing you guys out 6 times a week.(:
Shes done it over 3000 times, she needs a break. She was my childhood hero for doing this part and I got to see her March 1st in Nashville, truly an inspiration. Thank you Cathy Rigby! You'll always be my favorite Peter Pan!(:
Cut it out with the Les Miserables. I think Saigon should be cast with unknowns. Except Aaron Tveit, love that idea. He would make a great Engineer. Telly Leung would make a great addition to a cast like this also. A film version Miss Saigon would have the potential to make an amazing picture if its done the right way, maybe hire Hooper for this one too.
Rent would be a hard one to reinvent, imagine the amount of angry RENTheads if they brought the show back in 10 or so years and it wasn't done as well as the original run.
See I didn't even know there was a tour, Mackintosh might as well do what he did with Les Miserables and bring Saigon back after the tour since he's already made plans to make the film.
All I'm saying is that it NEEDS to happen. Bring it back and 3 of the best London musicals will be back on the Great White Way. I was never a big fan of Cats but I guess it might do well also, I just don't know why Saigon has been gone for so long, well over 10 years and one of the greatest in my opinion, thoughts???
Sounds sketchy. One of my top fave musicals of all time in an amazing revival with one of my favorite Broadway actors ever. But he just doesn't strike me as a good Billy Flynn. I can't hear or picture him doing the role justice. Has anyone seen him and is he razzle dazzling it up like it should be done??
