Annoying Show Followings
 Jul 8 2013, 04:28:52 PM
Ugh that is one of the most annoying things I face in shows that I am in with fellow teenagers. Especially the girls ?format=auto&width=600

Some shows I think deserve all of their annoying followings like Les Mis really does deserve it, especially the 25th Anniversary revival which in my opinion has some of the best singing I've ever heard. ie: Earl Carpenter w/ Stars. Also shows like Ave Q and Evita have very specific followings that I think are generally founded upon very good opinions that make sense.

I think it's alright for there to be fandom especially with the more popular musicals, BUT (and it's a big but) it has to have a good reason. You can just say "OMG I LOVE IT SO MUCH" and then not tell me why. The most commonly over-liked shows (without any type of specific reason) that I encounter are Wicked, Les Mis, and Rent. Drives me nuts.

Thanks for your replies!
Yeah my theater is in Madison, WI. Basically, I act locally for different companies such as the Children's Theater of Madison, Madison Opera (with legendary conductor John DeMain!) and my high school (James Madison Memorial). Also in our city we have the Overture Center which is a wonderful new center that has couple theaters, and is also included as a location in the Broadway Across America program. So we get around 4-5 shows every year. I love watching them and I

I unfortunately have not had the chance to travel to New York in my lifetime! I am hoping to go to NYU however in two years and that will change everything. I am constantly trying to figure out different ways to see new and interesting shows, and I am hoping to see a couple shows in New York this coming year :)

And thanks, this seems like a great board!

I hope this is allowed to be posted on this board!
I am a 16 year old actor from Madison, WI and I just recently started a blog about acting and Broadway shows. I only started a week or two ago, so I only have one review up (pre-Broadway Big Fish at the Oriental) but I have a few other posts and I am constantly updating. Today or tomorrow I will post about all of the new shows coming to Broadway this next season.
Please check it out here:

Thanks!
