ERIN MACKEY-INCREDIBLE LEGIT SOPRANO, COMEDY CHOPS AND ALL RANGE OF EMOTION. JUST SAW HER IN SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE AT THE GUTHRIE AND SHE WAS PHENOMENOL. GIVE HER A GOOD SCRIPT AND SEE WHAT SHE CAN DO. ALSO DOES A GREAT COCKNEY ACCENT

John Newton was so disliked from the time his God fearing mother died who he loved and adored (which soured him on God and life at an early age). how about erin mackey....broadway debut as glinda in wicked, sondheim on sondheim, anything goes,chaplin and now amazing grace along with several great review regional shows. She is an incredible actress in Amazing Grace.

whizzer. i really appreciate your response. i hear what you are saying. You are stating only what and how you saw the show Amazing Grace. However, it seems to me you could share your criticisms in less caustic language. I know we all see things differently in life and it is especially true in theater. I suppose if people want to take the word of a broadway message board contributor to decide whether to see a show or not that is their prerogative. Obviously we have differing opinions about

hi. i just wanted to ask you why you seem to enjoy obliterating interest in shows you don't like. i don't know if you are an actor or not but the hearts and souls of people who create theater are deeply involved with the shows they produce.Amazing Grace may be flawed but your reviews were scathing. i saw it 9 times in chicago and i enjoyed it immensely. i did leave humming some of the tunes and i did care about the charact

PS....STANDING OVATIONS EVERY NIGHT IN CHICAGO WERE BEFORE BOWS. THE SECOND SINGING OF AMAZING GRACE IS AFTER BOWS. THE AUDIENCE WAS ON THEIR FEET SO FAST IT AS THE SHOW ENDED IT WAS "AMAZING."
