I posted this message is because I did a search to see what kind of things have been said about Jennifer Holliday in the past and a lot of negative things came up. People say that she is the example of how NOT to use your voice and poor technique. And that she can't sing anymore and has ruined her voice. These are obviously not true. I am a little disturb about all of the various messages I have been reading about Jennifer Holliday's voice. I think it is very unusal that someone who has a voice that is, at the very least, unrivaled is being critqued in a way that makes her seem inadequate is ridiculous. She sings with passion and soul. Jennifer Holliday is one of the best singers of all time.

Jennifer Holliday would bring down the house as Shug! Her voice has really matured well and I would be interested to see how she handles Shug's lighter numbers like "Too Beautiful For Words." I don't think there could be a better replacement.
