Randy Jackson responds to Betty Buckley!!!!! Feb 9 2012, 08:21:07 PM
"Lambert did Wicked on tour or in LA or something--not quite the same but... (he may have gone to school for it too)." Yeah, I know Adam has done musicals. My point is that he's never been an actual Broadway performer, yet he was the one Randy singled out as a "Broadway singer." As far as schooling...I don't think he's had any formal training. At least not in musical theater.

To me, Randy's response really shows how little he knows about Broadway as a whole. He mentioned Adam Lambert, who while a huge POP star has never been in a Broadway show in his life, yet failed to mention Idol alum who have been genuinely successful in the genre, like Constantine Maroulis (a Tony nominee, no less), Clay Aiken and Diana DeGarmo. Even Ace Young has had more Broadway success than Mr. Lambert. Idiot.

Rock of Ages - Matthew Stocke as Lonny Feb 28 2010, 06:43:39 PM
"Why was Amy so bad as Sherrie?" I just didn't care for her take on the role. She played Sherrie as more of a ditzy cheerleader, and left out the vulnerability that gives heart to the character. JMO, obviously, but Savannah Wise was my favorite Sherrie, and Kerry my second fave.

I'm going to miss Kerry very much. Not only is she great as Sherrie, but she's a genuinely nice person. Love her. As for her replacement...I think they should give her understudy, Emily Padgett, a shot. She's terrific. I'll second the wish that Amy doesn't come back. As much as I loved her in Wedding Singer, she was all kinds of wrong as Sherrie.

Would love to see Savannah come back, but somehow I kind of doubt it. I think she's moved on... I, too, will miss Kerry when she leaves. I think she's been a great addition to the cast, and I love her chemistry with Constantine AND James. I'm not sure how I feel about the rumors that Diana DeGarmo might be the next Sherrie. I don't dislike her, I'm just not sure if she's right for the part.

Kerry is not in on Sundays. Emily Padgett plays Sherrie for both Sunday shows. Kerry tweeted recently that her last day in ROA is March 13.

Yes, I was there. Constantine was in fantastic voice, and the band ROCKED. As for the turnout...I really didn't see many empty tables at all. Maybe a few on the upper level, but the lower level looked completely full. If I can be there in February, I will.
