Sondheim at one time considered Dennis Potters movie DREAMCHILD. I wish Adam Guettel would do it. "
Do you have any info about Sondheim's consideration.
I just finished a musical adaptation, and am in the prelimiary stages of rights.

I'd like to know what's going on with it as well. I was going to go see the show when it was in Pasadena, but shows conflicted. I suppose we'll just see then...
And Anthony, your right, it's hard to place anything specific, so generally:
Menken "Musical Theatery": Beauty and the Beast
Menken Pop: Weird Romance
Menken Soul/R&B/ '70's Rock: Little Shop
Though, I agree, as a whole, his scores are VERY stylized, each having a different twist.

Actually, If found myself staring at the ad for SBW in the "Whose's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" program for about 20 minutes. Suddenly, I realized I REALLY WANT to see the show.
So, I'm getting my student funds together and driving to downtown. (I'm 45 minutes away).
