A Clockwork Orange (Off Broadway)

I saw last night's preview and I'm still kind of speechless. I've never seen a show like this. It was minimalist, raw, and loud: in a very good way. I really enjoyed it, but it's definitely not gonna be everyone's cup of tea. I sat in the onstage section and wow wow wow it was intense. The performer playing Alex (who transferred from the West End) was phenomenal. He's gotta a bright future ahead of him.

Sweeney Todd 2.0 - Carmello and Lewis

I was also there Tuesday night, and while I totally ageee that Carmelo's Mrs Lovett is phenomenal, I found the rest of the production REALLY flat. Norm Lewis is not a good fit for Sweeney. You can't convey all of Sweeney's passionate outbreaks (Epiphany) by just getting louder. I REALLLLLY wish I'd seen the previous cast.

Sorry if this should be in the "off-topics" section, but random question--how would you rank the various regional musical theatre companies (NorthShore, Sacramento, etc) by overall prestige? I got into an argument with a fellow theatre geek and wanted to see who were the top companies to try and work for someday! Thanks !!
