Hey everyone,
Does anyone feel any certain way about A Clockwork Orange at New World Stages? Is this the first of this production, or is it transferring from somewhere? I am all caught up on the shows I wanted to see, so now I am expanding a bit :)
It's a London transfer, and it's supposed to be amazing. I can't wait.

I can testify that the show is amazing. Book tickets! And if you are a fan of sexy men, you'll particularly love it!
jono the lead is sensational...it's a star making performance
Looks like good source material, hot guys, and one of them is Matt Doyle, so... I'm in.
I feel some kind of way about it but I don't think this is an appropriate place to discuss it.
SOLD! Haha, thanks so much!

It's suppose to be fabulous. Go by yourself or with comfortable friends.

For those who have seen it (and if you can tell us without spoilers), does this have the kind of psychological violence the movie does, the way 1984 does? I don't mind blood, but graphic depiction of straight-up torture is too much for me, so I want to know if I should skip this.

I may be in NY during the second week of previews in September (a week before opening night). Debating whether I should wait to see it after opening later in the fall, or there won't be too many changes during previews since it's a transfer?

I just saw the 4 minute teaser video.
I felt things I've never felt before.
I think I need a tissue.

We will also be there this Monday night!
Was anyone at the dress rehearsal or first preview tonight?
I saw part of their dress rehearsal (my production company helped film their B-Roll) and I must say it is quite the physical production. Really clever and high energy staging. I am looking forward to what folks think here on this board. I have a feeling people are really going to love it.

I find in general that Monday nights are the best nights to attend shows. Always good audiences of people who truly want to be there.
I saw last night's preview and I'm still kind of speechless. I've never seen a show like this. It was minimalist, raw, and loud: in a very good way. I really enjoyed it, but it's definitely not gonna be everyone's cup of tea. I sat in the onstage section and wow wow wow it was intense. The performer playing Alex (who transferred from the West End) was phenomenal. He's gotta a bright future ahead of him.

Having never been to this theatre, how's the seating? Looking at getting mid orchestra side aisle seats later this month. Is this a show that you want to be really up close for, or is further back just fine?

Sorry, double post!

I have an open slot in my NY trip (since Groundhog Day closed) and I'm really considering seeing this. Keep the reviews coming, folks!

Same here! And if it's worth it getting a stage seating.

Curious to when they added stage seating, I got my tickets in early August and they didn't have stage seating listed on the seating chart.
edit: if anyone is interested in seeing what the stage looks like:

LxGstv... thanks for posting the pic. I see that the stage is set low - almost looks like a pit. I can't tell by the pic... are the orchestra or stage seats raked at all? In other words, if I'm sitting in the 3rd row of the orchestra, am I'm going to have to worry about heads in my way? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I just found that picture while searching on Instagram, it's not mine. I haven't seen the show yet, I will be attending tomorrow's performance. Funny enough I'm on the third row of the orchestra so I'll be able to report back tomorrow night!
