All your replies have been helpful. Before this I was leaning toward Mermaid and Grease...But I decided Hairspray for one of them. I already sw Legally Blonde (great fun) so I have decided her two shows will be Hairspray and Grease. (I can't even get orch. seats for Wicked at ticketmaster prices for April, I am partial to good orch seats, willing to pay to hear the real music, but not overpay scalpers)
Now this may sound awful, but I am choosing the bad reviewed Grease over Mermaid beacuse a

Thank you..Considering the whole theater experience for her and overall wow factor, would you recommend Hairspray over Grease?

Thanks for the replies..Do you know if Hairspray is under 2 1/2 hours. I saw Spring Awakening and that is totally inappropriae for a 7 yr. old. The sex scene is very in your face. She'd be laughing and in shock over a seeing a bare butt.

I get to take my daughter to see two shows the first week in April. She is almost seven. She saw Poppins last April. She was wonderfully behaved(sat right behind the conductor)but was kind of bored by the end (it ran a bit long). Already saw Lion.Any opinions on other shows appropriate for a 7 yr old besides Mermaid. Grease,Mamma Xanadu? Are these like PG rated? She loves the movie Grease, but with the bad reviews, I'd like her to see something special. But are these other shows' content approp
