I know this questions has been going on like forever, and it will most certainly spark controversy, but who is your favourite Mama Rose?
Mine is Patti Lupone hands down. She is just AMAZING in the Encores production and undoubtedly spectacular on Broadway.
I'd even go further. My least favourite would be Rosalind Russel. Sorry to fans of hers, but any true broadway fan (for me) would understand that her voice and stoic acting ain't no mama rose.

re: Rose's Turn, or Lot's Wife?
The two songs differ so much!
I've always felt Rose's Turn was more easy for the ears as it is sexy, diva-like and offers a wide range of emotions, from mocking to anger, to bitterness. On the diva range, Rose's Turn definitely wins.
But for Lot's Wife, the lyrics, and the mutil-layered meanings are just so captivating and brilliant that it amazes me what a great lyricist Kushner is! The allusion to Lot's wife from the bible that isn't talked much, to the line 'Turn me to salt
