Tom Deckman is fantastic as is Rick Holmes. I saw the show earlier this year when Hannah Waddingham was LOL and thought she was much better than Merle. I think Merle has a great voice, saw her on 11-5, but it seemed like she never "finished" her scenes, something was missing on the acting side for me.

I saw it today and I thought it was stunning. The filming and editing were brilliant. I never saw the show on Broadway but have seen it on tour three times and today I saw so many nuances that I never had before.

Spamalot's numbers have been down compared to last year as a rule and last year's post Labor Day drop was 35.8%, this year 40.5%. For the previous week, including Labor Day 2007 the show had a capacity of 92.0%, 2008 82.4% so the numbers for post Labor Day, while bad, aren't really out of line with how the show is doing.
Only time will tell if Clay Aiken is going to help the numbers rebound for the end of 2008 as they did for the beginning.

While certain shows may be off more than the norm, last year's drop after Labor Day was an average of 30.76%, this year 30.8% so it isn't earth shattering.

I agree that he is heading back to Spamalot for the paycheck and I think this has been in the works since he left in May. Baby born on planned day at planned time, 8:08 on 8-8-08 and 4 days later the return is made known.

Hannah's last performance is June 15th as her Visa runs out.
I can see Stephen Collins as the King, but after seeing David Hibbard, love me some David Hibbard, as Patsy I just cannot see Drew Lachey pulling that one off.
