Well, I had a friend tell me not too long ago (a reliable source) that Scherzinger would very likely be cast as Grizabella. However, this morning it's being reported by British press that she will be joining the X Factor as a judge, which starts later this summer. Nothings officially confirmed either way, but I do wonder what happened there. Bizarre.
Anyway, if Scherzinger won't be doing it, then I wonder who will? Audra can't do it for obvious re

As far as I've heard, Scherzinger is more than likely going to star as Grizabella. She's currently filming that Dirty Dancing remake, however, I'm pretty sure filming ends right before rehearsals for CATS start. I don't think that's just a coincidence.

As far as I know, Hough will only be in Singin' in the Rain for about 6-8 months I'm guessing. I'm sure Harvey Weinstein will want to keep it open for as long a possible, but Derek said recently in an interview that he is currently writing and choreographing his own musical dance tour/concert which starts touring in late 2017. I'm completely fine with Derek being in Singin' in the Rain after my friend told me he was great in Footloose on the West End, but st

I'm really liking the casting for this so far.
Btw, Hough is a professionally trained theatre actor and was in a few West End shows before his time on DWTS. My friend saw him as Ren in Footloose in London back in 2006 or 2007 and said he was great. I'm sure he'll do fine as Corny.
I do wonder if they are going to push back the opening of Singin' in the Rain though. Isn't it planned to open in January of next year? So
