Re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 8/30/26

Truly mindboggling sum of money I have no doubt. Do ...

Whew after Broadway Week ends, a lot of these shows are in for a LOT of hurt in the next 2 months. By the end of the year, I would say we're looking at losing Two Strangers, Mincemeat, &Juliet (wild that they're still running, but imagine they have a great rent deal from Roundabout given they'd rather have that income coming in than the theater sitting empty), Maybe Happy Ending, Just In Time (closing up shop after Ariana and Whitney, but we'll see how their performances fair...that score is ...

Re: How would a …WHOREHOUSE revival fare today?

I'm not sure how active Jeffrey Richards is since Our Town and Maybe Happy Ending. He's usually on the boards with at least 2-3 plays every season and nothing has been announced/run in a couple years. He's not exactly young, so there's a good chance those rights have lapsed. In any case, I agree it would need someone with a name and a fanbase to make any sense to produce today. Though one could easily see Roundabout take a crack at it with a Kelli O'Hara or similar. Richards was also the righ...

September and October are about to be an absolute bloodbath omg. None of it is good news outside of the top 4. It remains crazy to me how far Wicked has fallen since Part 2 was released. It materially damaged the brand. I think it's different from burnout because following Part 1, the Broadway show did excellent. The lasting impression from the films is, unfortunately, the far inferior film.

She was truly the best of all of us and it really felt like she was going to live forever. Gutted. No one can say she didn't live a long, beautiful life.

Ugh. I know I may be in a minority here but I find Ariana’s work (outside of WSS) to be wholly unremarkable. That’s coming from someone with 0 Oscars and 0 Tony noms, but I don’t find her to be a convincing leading lady by any stretch. Much less a ticket seller.

Ostensibly he'd have had a lower salary than some of the other stars too. All in all, she's not going anywhere anytime soon, that's for sure.

Re: OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

The casting well on this show is just SO deep at this point. There are still so many that could realistically take it on. Melissa McCarthy, Amy Poehler, Bob the Drag Queen. They've made so much money in their high highs that I imagine they can very much cover any lower-performing stints. And even then, have they ever not broken even to this point?
