Profile: For personal and most importantly great entertainment reasons, I hope that "Subways Are For Sleeping" would be revived. The lady who was to be my wife and I were living in New York City in the early 60s and loved "SAFS." It's based on true stories of homeless people living in NYC. The music is endearing. So now, what might we do to get this show produced? Thank you!

We're also working on a musical that we'll first present as a "reading" and unstaged. Even if it never gets staged, it has drop-dead gorgeous tunes. It's set in New York. Anybody seriously interested, leave me a message. :)

Right you are, CM.
re: Has anyone on here ever been on Broadway?

:) BTW, it is a great way to exercise. And I always find money on the sidewalk.

I walked from 1 Broadway down on Wall Street all the way up to 42nd Street several times. So yes, I've been on Broadway.

If there was no Broadway, someone would invent one. :)

re: Kristin Chenoweth as Mame

There are a whole bunch of Chenoweths in Saint Paul. They are into everything, from law to government.

Any relation?

FINANCING MUSICALS?

Name some names of people and businesses that finance musicals?

If you ask, they might tell.

re: Best 'Feel Good' Musicals

SUBWAYS ARE FOR SLEEPING. Love it. Makes me feel good.

And BLYTHE SPIRIT.

re: SHREK Reviews

Shrek has rather limited appeal. Sillyass kid's stuff. Any good parents would snack the little buggers who would whine to see it. None of we stodgy adults would see it. And there lots of us in that category. So Shrek is a loser.

I like sentimental, romantic musicals.

re: Biggest Lie in Broadway History?

The biggest lie is that Broadway thinks it has to go completely nuts on scenery and high-tech related props and efx to get an audience. The lack of audience attests to this lie/misconception.

Detroit and Broadway have much in common.

Think about it, ye that think. :)

Not very bright, are you? You are rather knee-jerky. Try thinking outside the square, if you dare.

re: Why Was Mary Martin Such a Big Star?

LAL! I'm sure glad somebody brought this up because I had the same experience and wonder. I'd say Mary Martin has much in common with Barbara Streisand in opposite voice polarity. Yet both have that enigmatic "star??" quality. Whereas Barbara's sustaining high notes are akin to an unremitting 110 dB air raid siren, Mary Martin has just the opposite tiny voice going for her.

Conclusion? Tis just one of the deep dark secrets of show biz.

One their producers (or seducers) know f

That's because you're not very smart. Not your fault. Hopefully, the more intelligent people will understand.
