Both Farah Alvin(Marvelous Wonderettes) and Jay Armstrong Johnson(Catch Me if You Can, Hair) are slated to perform this coming Sunday at "The Village Gate's Old Fashioned Piano Party" This weekly party/open mic night is celebrating the music of Alan Menken and of up coming songwriting team of Zach Redler and Sara Cooper(The Memory Show).

i took a tour of the space wherethe show is going to be and it is AMAZING. I wrote an article about this show featuring a video of Diane Paulus giving her take on the piece, as well as a number of promo shots for it. Sooo excited!

The Village Gate's Old Fashioned Piano Party is a brand new musical theater open mic night much like the after party or jim caruso's cast party. It's at (Le) Poisson Rouge which is a swank venue down on Bleeker Street(between Thompson and Sullivan) Sundays at 9:30pm

Rickey was great, and yes even though i had seen the literal translation of "total eclipse of the heart" it was still sooooo funny. the ali forney center truly is a wonderful organization that helps homeless gay youths. They have a rally coming up, check it out on their website!
