I've been told that Anthony Rapp is leaving the LSOH tour in January...is this true?

I just e-mailed him actually a few days about this and he actually responded yesterday

here is what he said

Hi Kristen --

As of now, I'm contracted to be with the show until the end of the year, but that may change...

So hopefully he'll extend...it's still up in the air...I really hope he stays with it because it doesn't come towards me until July! And the closest it's coming before than is April...

I hope he stays with it. Maybe (i know i am stretching it here) he only signed til the end of the year in case he wanted to join the Broadway cast. Now that the show on Broadway is no more, maybe he will stick with it for the entire ruin.

It's been touring since August, so yeah he means by the end of December he is definatly with the show, but after that he's not sure if he'll extend.

umm not sure if it's puplic or not...my friend had it and gave it to me a looooooooong time ago, but i never worked up the nerve to e-mail him before haha...now that i had a real question I e-mailed him and to my surprise he got back to me within 2 days...

Anyone think that Chris Columbus has asked him to reprise his role as Mark for the Rent movie? Rapp has publicly said that he would be interested in doing that.

Oh, I really love Anthony Rapp. I'd want to see him as Mark in a movie etc. and I hope he stays with all the other shows.

Jonathan's site doesnt say anything about the tour yet, but he might be behind on updates. That would be great if he took over... he is wonderful in the role and truly loves the show.

I asked him about that after I saw him in LSoH a couple weeks ago. He said they hadn't started casting yet.

Maelinya: Did Rapp again express an interest in reprising his role as Mark (for the film) when he told you that they hadn't begun casting yet? I know that he worked with Columbus in the '80s on Adventures in Babysitting. Casting him as Mark would be a wise though somewhat curious choice, since he played a teenager in a Columbus film of the 1980s, and would now be playing someone who is probably supposed to be accepted as only a few years out of his teens.

If Rapp leaves, i dont think i will be seeing LSOH when it comes to chicago. Although if Rayson does replace him....i may just change my mind.

NOOOO!!! that's so not aloud!! I live near NYC and had seen the show on broadway but was going to go to philadelphia just to see him!!! not fair!! (unless he is doing the rent movie and then maybe i'll forgive him!! lol)

Jim Poulos is in the tour of LSOH? I LOVED him in Rent. Definitely one of the nicest guys to ever be in the show! :)
