I don’t mind them using a different font than the more traditional Rocky Horror look, it’s just the warping that makes it look like 80s Microsoft Word. Maybe that’s what they were going for.

Maybe they’re just trying to keep all their bases covered with this title? Didn’t MTI have to change the contract a while back to specify which characters are black because a theatre performed Hairspray in blackface?

I’m actually surprised this hasn’t happened yet.

To me it’s about intent. The show is called Gypsy because her name was Gypsy Rose Lee, not because anyone is intentionally trying to offend the Roma and Sinti people. It’s a period piece and at this time in history it was culturally acceptable to use that word. Changing it censors history. Absolutely include a note in the program about the usage of the word as they have done on their website, but I see no reason to change the title.

I wasn’t joking necessarily. Sometimes albums are recorded and released in 4 to 6 weeks and other times it does seem like producers will hold back a release a few weeks or months for some sort of strategic reason even though we all know it’s not really taking that long to finish it.

What did you use to listen to it? I’m not hearing it. The chorus on the entire album and the orchestra at times lack clarity.

This will be a new musical adaptation right? This is not the previous stage version which was essentially a play with music as others have described? But I’m assuming it’s largely or entirely a jukebox musical because I don’t see any mention of a composer or songwriters at the moment.

Two discs and still not enough room for "Atlantic City?" That's unforgivable. Honestly just a single disc with the main songs would have been fine with me since the OBC is so definitive but "Atlantic City" would be a main song to me.

My apologies if this has already been answered, but does this version of the show end with Florence's reprise of Anthem?

What’s included sounds fine to me. Not great just fine. There seems to be debate about whether it was recorded in front of an audience or not. Webber makes it sound like it was. If so whatever processing they did to remove audience noise does seem to suck the life out of it. I’m much more interested to hear the full album, but if by full album they just mean these full 10 tracks being released on CD in 2026 then that will be very disappointing.

I don’t even care if this comes to Broadway or not. The way Webber talks about it is like he’s resigned himself to the fact that it won’t make any money so why bother. Just release the full album please.

That’s really unfortunate if there were plans for a proshot. I was really hoping this would do well so it might tour the US and I could get a chance to see it.
