So, my friend and I are seeing two shows next month. And I am wondering if Waitress does Standing Room Only or Rush or Student Discounts?

They only sell SRO if the show is completely sold out
They may also offer you day-of tickets in the rear mezzanine for $48 if you go to the box office in person. Those tickets are usually $79. Such seats are usually just single seats, however.

Yup, I just found a discount on Ticketmaster for that. My friend and I are still deciding this or Miss Saigon

I don't think the Brooks Atkinson has a proper lobby. That's the one that feels like you're out in the alley, no?

The word lobby is literally in the title of this thread and I don't know why, which is why I asked
"Waitress SRO/Lobby?"

I'm in town next weekend (29th) and desperate to see Waitress, but cant afford full price. Whats the chance of it selling out & offering SRO (and what time do people usually queue?) - could they discount the premium seats if they're not sold out on the day? (does that even happen in the US? In the UK if the expensive ones aren't sold out on the day, sometimes box office staff have a little leeway if you're very nice to them)
Sorry for all the questions & hijacking your threat neonlightxo!
A day or so out, they start reducing some of the premium prices. I also don't know how far they sell out, but partial view box seats are only available from the box office in person. I bought mine for June, but that was the date I wanted, so not sure if they are even possible on the day.

Thats very useful to know - i have a friend in town at the moment who could pop in to the box office maybe - how much are the box seats? Thanks :)
I saw Waitress listed on TKTS yesterday for 40% off.
When they reduce the $400 seats, they still become like $189, though, in case that also seems too high.

I'm crossing my fingers for TKTS, but with it being a saturday i'm not holding my breath...

Unfortunately probably so - i'm coming from London where the max i usually pay for tickets is £20, so after already booking full price for Hello Dolly, Anastasia and Joan Of Arc:Into The Fire i'm a bit maxed out already! (i booked JoA before the reviews unfortunately!)

I resold my tickets after it opened for a tidy profit.
Do you have the todaytix app? In the past I've seen $99 tickets for waitress starring Bareilles but nowadays I've been seeing the normal prices of over $160.
good luck!
if you don't want to see Joan of arc, just resell the tix.

The night im seeing Joan of Arc it hasn't sold out yet (even tho its the last day) - so i'm waiting for that to happen before itry to sell it!

Waitress has not been in TKTS during any weekend at all since Sara came in. It was on TKTS for 40% last night (Tuesday) but that's the first time I have seen it there at all in a while.
They sold enough tickets to have standing room last night as well. Recently, there have been more days with standing room than without.

Thanks @kathyNYC2! SRO would be ideal, as its nice and cheap! Do people line up early for SRO like rush, or would we be ok turning up at the box office when it opens? (again sorry for all the questions!!!)

Yes they do and there are only 12 standing room spots so the earlier the better. That could start when the box office opens or earlier. No idea. When I walked by at noonish last sat, there were probably 15-20 people waiting on line for standing room and I guess cancellations.

Has there been SRO tix sold recently?
How early would I have to get there?
Thanks

Yes as noted above. Standing room is sold when they house is full which is pretty much all the time with Sara there.
Can't help you with the time though I would say earlier on weekends since the lines seem to be longer then.

Has anyone tried SRO lately? If so, what would be a safe time to get there? Also, how often was the show completely sold out recently that they were offering standing room? Thanks!

Last Tuesday after striking out on a few other rushes I went to the theater at around 6PM and scored the last SRO only ticket. On my TKTS app it still said there were tickets available at 30% off so it seems like they are selling before the last ticket is sold out, but it could be the app had a lag. Anyway, I think its hard to pinpoint when they start selling and therefore can't say an exact time to show up.
