STAGE TUBE: What if WICKED Was an Animated Disney Film?

That's pretty impressive, but I would prefer live action.

Also there has to be a close up on Elpheba, justr before she zooms away at the end.

However, that's a whole lot of effort and a nice visualisation!

I think that animated is the best way to go with this film. Especially considering that the end of Defying Gravity is going to look ridiculous on film.

This definitely made me want more.

husk_charmer, I definitely agree.

The musical is family-friendly enough it could pass for animation. Except for As Long As Your Mine might be a tiny bit problematic...but I dunno. I could see a lot of those songs translating well though, like March Of Witch Hunters, Popular, The Wizard and I (with possibly animated dream sequences with the Wizard?!) I'm getting giddy just thinking about it...

However, it would probably have to be a Pixar thing or somehow a joined Universal-Disney thing, wouldn't it? I could hardly see Universal forfeiting the rights.

Those are really well done story boards!
Though I wouldn't mind seeing an animated Wicked, I would prefer it in 2D/drawn like this, but these days that seems less likely.
Really loved how they handled the guards in this version.

I liked the clock! That was a nice little homage to the stage design. I think an animated film would be the best way to do "Defying Gravity" on screen. I can't really see that song working as well in a live action film as it does on stage, but at the same time a movie version would be almost guaranteed to make money so I would imagine those in charge not really giving a sh*t as to the artistic merit of the film.

LOVE IT! Not so keen on the start of the flying portion, I like how she does the whole "its not her" speech and the rise on "its me" (I find it to be much more powerful) but daaamn! This should be really looked at by the owners of WICKED

Damn it. I was a bit excited.

I ALWAYS said it should be a classicly hand drawn cartoon movie. I said it on the board when they announced they were doing the ABC series. It's a fantastic idea. Also, it's probably the only way that Kristin and Idina could play the roles again. They look way too old now.
