How about Julius Ceasar? It's got Shakespeare and Denzel Washington, so chances are you're going to get a good show. On Golden Pond isn't as good a play, but James Earl Jones is always worth seeing on stage.

If you haven't seen Chicago, I suggest it.

It's an amazing show, totally kills the movie.

I haven't seen Forbidden Broadway, though I have listened to the CD. My advice to you is if you are going to NY to see Broadway musicals and have the money for the tickets, stick with the BIG shows and not small musical reviews like F.B. with just a piano or two. These are the kinds of shows you can see in your own city. Also, as you've mentioned, Hairspray is touring (not "off Broadway") so if you can see a show locally, it wouldn't be a priority for me to see it on Broadway. I saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels in previews in San Diego and loved it (much more than the Producers, to which it has been compared.) That would be 1st on my list to see in addition to Wicked and Avenue Q which are both amazing! Updated On: 12/27/04 at 12:42 PM
