renthead333 I think the trend is getting out of control. Mediocre movies like "The Wedding Singer", "Legally Blonde" and others are being turned into musicals. "Saturday Night Fever" was a classic film of the 70's. "Hairspray" was a cult film. These newer films are neither. They are formulatic junk.

I had a dream that I was going to come on this thread and suggest they make Pan's Labyrinth into a musical. And then I decided it was actually a pretty good idea. So yeah, get on that. Guettel or Ahrens & Flaherty or someone.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
I'm sure I read somewhere that Moonstruck was being turned into a musical already. If you search I'm sure you can find the details. I'm too lazy to do it, so I'll just give this heads up.
I tend to think that any small character driven film would work, maybe something like Transamerica.
