I said older, not old. I'm 20, so older could be anything. re: Good songs for the 'mature' soprano

Look at some of the songs from Parade. Among them:
You Don't Know This Man
My Child Will Forgive Me

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I have a friend who is over 50 who uses Why Did I Choose You as one of her audition songs. She's got a glorious voice, a huge range, and fabulous acting chops. Unless the soprano performing it has all those things, that song will be sub-par.

Gothampc: Lucille is in her 20s in the show, so I'm not sure how age-appropriate that song would be.

There's nothing in "You Don't Know This Man" that dates the actress. It could be sung by an older woman.

Gothampc: True. Though, it may be difficult for a soprano--it gets pretty low and belty. Depends on the singer, though.

She can sing Audra McDonald's arrangement.
