Same is true of Citizen Ruth, won best new musical,but the entire cast was not available.

This seems to be a common mistake, so I'm going to clear it up now:

There is no "Best Musical" at FringeNYC. Fringe gives out "Excellence" awards, which allows them to award as many productions as they feel like awarding.

CITIZEN RUTH was one of five or six musicals this year to get "Outstanding Musical" or whatever it's called.

Thanks for the inaccurate clarification. Actually there were 2 shows selected as Best New Musical. Mom-A rock concert and Citizen Ruth. My original point being that not ALL shows that did well in the Fringe are part of the Encore series..that's all.

I was there when they awarded these and I have worked for the Fringe Festival in the past. I was only pointing out that the award is not "Best" because they give out more than one.

"I Can Has Cheezburger: The MusicLOL" was also offered a spot in the Encores series; however, they had to turn it down due to too many actors book other gigs.
