I've read JUST LUCKY I GUESS several times. It's like having one long talk with TGC.
This past May I was on the Bridgeport/Port Jefferson Ferry, coming home from a weekend in Boston and was re-reading it. I was laughing so hard at the Ethel Merman story that a woman tapped me on the arm to comment that her little daughter had been amused as she watched me reading. Obviously the book delights me and it was obvious to those around me that this is really a special memoir.
Incidentally, TGC re-tells the Merman story in her new show and it's even better when she does so because she does perfect impersonations of Ann Miller and Ethel Merman.
