BROADWAY RECORDS SET TO RELEASE JARROD SPECTOR ALBUM
RECORDED LIVE AT 54 BELOW

(February 28, 2013 – New York, NY) – Broadway Records will release Jarrod Spector’s "A Little Help From My Friends: Live At 54 BELOW" digitally and on CD on March 25th, 2014. The CD is available for pre-order at http://amzn.com/B00IP9ZAG2. The CD will be available in advance to those attending Jarrod’s upcoming 54 BELOW concerts on March 10th, 23rd and 24th. Spector will be signing CDs at these 54 BELOW performances as well as at his engagement on March 31st at 54 BELOW.

“Putting together this show and album affected me in a deep and profound way,” Spector noted. The album, which features music from artists like Billy Joel, Enrico Caruso, Little Richard, Freddie Mercury, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, and Bono required exhaustive research. “In researching this album, I was immersed in the music of these venerated artists whom I’ve adored my whole life. After portraying one man [Frankie Vallie] for 1500 performances with Jersey Boys, I was haunted by identity fears. Being able to delve into the repertoire of other artists helped quell them. I now feel a sense of fraternity with these artists.”

“Jarrod is a truly gifted performer with an astonishing range and ‘A Little Help From My Friends’ is a worthy addition to our ever expanding ‘Live at 54 BELOW’ album series,” said Van Dean, co-founder of Broadway Records. “This recording is the 25th we have released since starting the label in 2012 and is a fitting way to welcome Jarrod to the Broadway Records family.”

The music director for “A Little Help From My Friends: Live at 54 BELOW” is Adam Ben-David and the recording is produced by Michael J. Moritz, Jr. and Jarrod Spector and executive produced by Rich Aronstein and The Broadway Consortium. “A Little Help From My Friends” is the latest in the “Live at 54 BELOW” series that started earlier this year with albums by Patti LuPone, Norbert Leo Butz, Christiane Noll, Andrea McArdle, Aaron Tveit, Laura Benanti and the most recently released Sierra Boggess, Michael Cerveris & Loose Cattle and Bebe Neuwirth. More albums in the series will be announced shortly.

JARROD SPECTOR recently ended his tenure as Frankie Valli in the Broadway smash hit Jersey Boys after a record 1500 performances in the role. He is currently on Broadway portraying another music icon, songwriter Barry Mann, in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at the Stephen Sondheim Theater.

Originally from Philadelphia, Jarrod started his professional career very early, as a winner of Ed McMahon’s Star Search at age six before making his Broadway debut as the plucky Gavroche in Les Miserables at age nine. He later attended Princeton University and trained at the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School conservatory. Jarrod was playing the title role in Hamlet in an off-Broadway production when he was cast in and began his six-year odyssey with Jersey Boys.

In addition to theater Jarrod has launched a very successful career as a concert and cabaret artist, reinventing and reenergizing cabaret and challenging what constitutes the Great American Songbook. His New York debut show, Minor Fall, Major Lift, received critical acclaim and played dozens of performances at various NY institutions including Feinstein’s, as well as theaters and concert venues around the country. Jarrod’s newest venture, A Little Help From My Friends, premiered in October 2013 at 54 BELOW with four sold-out performances. Said critic Brian Scott Lipton, “By evening’s end, it’s clear that had Spector chosen not to devote his career to Broadway…this slightly petite dynamo with the big voice and the killer falsetto could easily earn his own place in the vaulted pantheon of pop royalty.”

Jarrod’s first album, a studio recording of Minor Fall, Major Lift, is available on iTunes and Amazon. For upcoming concert dates and more information find Jarrod on Facebook and twitter (@jarrodspector).
