A feature film adaptation of William Hauptman & Roger Miller's 1985 Tony-winning musical, Big River, is in the works. Douglas Lyons is set to pen the script. This is wild! I’m a pretty big- Big River apologist/fan, but I can’t imagine this making money, and it’s hard to imagine a studio willing to lose money on a problematic property like Huck Finn
This is about as unexpected as Kiss of the Spiderwoman. I am totally here for it. Would love to see more film adaptations of less well-known shows. Not something we've seen a lot of over the past 20 years.
