Does anyone know if the Philly run of The Light in the Piazza has been canceled? It was taken off broadwayacrossamerica but it's still on piazza's tour site.

It's still listed on the Merriam Theatre Website...

Oh it has definitely NOT been cancelled. I am in contact with Elena and I'm seeing her when she's in Philly. It's still coming.
On Playbill's website it's listed at the Boyd at 19th and Chestnut.

So, by now it is official that Piazza has been cancelled for Philadelphia due to a "scheduling conflict" at the Merriam Theatre.
I am really pissed off... aside from the fact that we have a theatre that sits dark for 10 months of the year (The Forrest), the Merriam advertised this show on their schedule, and now it is replaced by something called "Men, Money and Gold Diggers." And of course no mention of this on the Merriam website. Just lovely... the kind of crap that happens in this wonderful city all the time and what keeps it as a second rate loser-town.
The cast was supposedly told that maintenance reasons restrict them from performing at the merriam. That theatre needs to be fixed. Luckily I will get to see the show in Boston, but Philly is so much closer, which sucks.
