There is nothing wrong with the scores of their shows. The score to Smash was its strongest suit.

Kimberly Akimbo tour Jun 2
2025, 03:51:06 PM
The Kimberly Akimbo tour ended it's 2 week run at The National Theatre yesterday. I saw it Thursday evening and absolutely loved it.
I played the lottery 4 times and won one time. Great seat - 8th row center orchestra on the aisle. What puzzles me is that there were a lot of empty seats, yet tickets for this production did not appear on TodayTix and there wasn't a rush policy in place. I tried the lottery again for Sunday, but didn't win. Usuall

I hope Joshua Henry gets some better fitting costumes.

Leslie Odom, Jr. to return to HAMILTON for limited rin Apr 16
2025, 09:53:23 AM
I have nothing against Leslie Odom, Jr. I just didn't particularly care for the performance he gave on the filmed version of the show. It was very different from what I remember him doing when I saw Hamilton in person. That being said, I prefer Joshua Henry's and Nicholas Christopher's take on Aaron Burr.

SMASH Previews Mar 26
2025, 08:47:20 AM
I haven't seen Smash yet, and not sure if I will. I was thinking, could the writing from the original series be copyrighted so that they more or less had to start from scratch with the Broadway incarnation?

@dreamboy3, there wasn't a dance break in the Garden of Eden sequence in the Tyne Daly production of Gypsy. I just listened to a live recording of it.

Adrian Bailey (Jelly’s Last Jam, The Little Mermaid) passed away Sep 24
2024, 02:55:11 PM
Playbill just announced it, but I happened to see it on his Facebook page yesterday. How incredibly sad that he suffered all these years after that horrific accident.
I spoke to him at the Sophisticated Ladies reunion concert (don't remember the year), but it had to have been before his accident.
My earliest recollection of seeing him on stage was in Sophisticated Ladies and My One and Only.

HAMILTON Principal Cast Replacements Aug 16

There were a lot of principal male absences when I saw the tour in DC 2 years ago. Saw the 2nd cover for Burr. Not good at all!! Same thing happened when I saw the tour in Baltimore in 2019 (different Burr cover).

Funny Girl Tour cast changes. Aug 16

Katerina made the show. Her performance made a huge difference. Having seen clips of the Broadway production, there's something about the tour that the comes off less polished (for lack of a better word).

Stephanie Umoh is the new Angelica. She's fine, just not my favorite in the role. I saw her on tour a few years ago. I wish Ta'Rea Campbell was in it. She's phenomenal as Angelica.

Funny Girl Tour cast changes. Dec 31

I saw the tour last night in DC. Upon entering the Opera House I was happy to see that no understudies were listed. Got to my seat and there was a printout of the cast appearing that night. Unfortunately, Katerina McCrimmon was out. I was not happy about that as I specifically went to see her. I would have been pleased if Hannah Shankman was on in her place (did not happen). Got second understudy Leah Platt. What dismays me is there was no notificatio

HAMILTON Principal Cast Replacements Jul 2

Happy for another new cast member. I saw the show in February when Bryson Bruce was on as Hamilton. He was quite good. That was also the performance when the Eliza standby appeared in Act 2. Jen Sese was excellent. I love Tamar Greene's, George Washington.
I've seen Hamilton numerous times (Broadway and various tours), but this was the first time I was bored. I used to enjoy the uniqueness of the ensemble, but no one stood out (not in the pulling focus k

Borle, Sykes, and Rodriguez will lead Kennedy Center's BYE BYE BIRDIE Jun 14

Having seen this twice, the video clips are not a good representation of the show I saw. I wonder if this was from an invited dress. I thought it was a fun and enjoyable production, though I don't see it transferring.

Does Katerina do all 8 performances, or does she have a scheduled evening off? I'd like to see her when the tour arrives in DC soon.

I saw this Saturday night, and the production was absolutely delightful. I have never seen a production of this show, and don't have any recollection of having seen the 1995 televised version with Vanessa Williams and Jason Alexander.
I don't think there were any weak links in the cast. Krysta Rodriguez was wonderful as Rosie. Caroline Aaron (Mrs. Mae Peterson) and Richard Kind (Harry MacAfee) were absolutely perfect. I enjoyed Ashlyn Maddox as Kim MacAfee
