In your opinion, who do you think has the most 'star power'? Meaning you just see this person up on the stage and you want to jump to your feet, or give them a huge enterance applause before they even open their mouth to speak?
Just wondering.

Now would that be the Jesus in Godspell, or the one in JC Superstar?
I think, as of right now, or at least up until July 30, it would be a tie between Christine Ebersole and Patti LuPone. La LuPone was a big enough name to have a show revived for her, with her name above the billing and her face the show's logo. However, we must remember the various riots that broke out when Ms. Ebersole missed a performance in Grey Gardens. It is clear many people saw the show for her and her alone. So I guess that's my current opinion, although it's subject to change.
Julie Andrews, Liza Minnelli, Bernadette Peters. I consider them to be the three goddesses of Broadway.

Patti LuPone. She owns a stage like no one else.
I think it's a bit pointless to ask "Who has the most star power" as if it's something you can measure.
As Stephen Sondheim wrote, "You either got it or you ain't." That's it, it's not like some people have it less than other, some have it, some don't.

If LuPone missed a performance from Gypsy the riots would wipe out half the island in madness, the ground would break and all Glenn Close fans would be sent to hell.

I would have no reason to live it it weren't for these ladies.
I have to throw in Chita Rivera, Lenora Nemetz, and Lesle Kritzer.
I saw Chita in The Dancer's Life and it was physically impossible for me to take my eyes away from her. That's star power.
How did it take 20 posts before Chita Rivera was mentioned in a "star power" thread?

How did it happen? Simple, because 99% of the people posting on the main board are teenagers and if something didn't happen yesterday, it didn't happen.
Right, and even though I am a teenager I have been blessed to see her as Roxie in Chicago, Fleur in Nine, and in A Dancer's Life.
