The Posters of Broadway World briefly attempted to create a musical about this site. Now I thought it would be a great idea have a write a musical competition. My challenge to posters is to write a libretto to a musical with song lyrics. The musical could be about anything and can contain whatever.
The librettos are due January 4th
Also you must PM me a proposal by November 15th. In your proposal write what your musicals plot outline and your vision for this libretto. No more than 5 sentences is needed
I have proposals from
jafkb
wickedfan11
B3A07
dlmusic
Our judges are me, EnWashingtonHeights, YankeeFan007 ifuweregay93, and WickedRocks
Please email librettos to me at rishi.mutalik@gmail.com
Keep Bumping this Thread so people can get the message. Even If you forgot to give a proposal you can still send in a libretto for the competition.
Thank You
I'll write one based on The Devil Wears Prada with Dramarama
I'm working on a parody of Les Miserables that's about what the actors are really thinking when they're onstage, but there's no libretto as such, because it's sung through. Is that good enough?
If not, I have that musical of M*cb*th...

That is fine. The only other rule I should add is that while parodies are aloud posters will be disqualified if a scene contains verbatim from another show. Also if plot lines are too similar it might result in disqualification. Although if you are doing a musical adaptation of a movie or a play or a book those rules do not apply. Schmerg it is okay to have an all sung show as long as it does not overlap to mutch with Les Mis.

I've always thought Heidegger's "Being and Time" would make a great musical.

"My Humps" To the music of the Black Eyed Peas!
I saw a video on youtube of a 'dramatic interpretation' of My Humps-- maybe you could expand this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKNiyqIYtdY

Yeah. I'm gonna redefine Jukebox Musical!
Especially with the hip Disney Channle/Nickelodeon type cast.
Miley Cyrus (she can't sing, but she attracts big money!)
Jonas Brothers (Again, money)
Zac Effron (Money)
Dylan Sprouse
Cole Sprouse
Ashley Tisdale (Money)
Vanessa Ann Hudgens (She and Miley have a nude sex scene!)
Demi Lavado
Selina Gomez
Jamie Lynn Spears
Drake Bell
Josh Peck
Miranda Cosgrove

Wait, what? No Zac Efron? What are you thinking, man? Gotta get someone from HSM in there.
Incidentally, I actually have a bit of a thing for Josh Peck. He's so cheesy, but so adorable... which is probably also why I have a bit of a thing for Michael Ball and Elvis Presley....
Dude, hands off. Efron's playing Heidegger.
do we need to have a cast?

Sorry, I added the other ones who just signed the contracts.
The whole cast is at my house now for a read through!
Right now, we're running through the scene where the cast plays duck duck goose. Next up is the Miley/Vanessa sex scene.
DAMMIT ZAC EFFRON, The Jonas Brothers are not into your little saussage games. They prefer the Sprouse brothers instead!

Can a udge also submit a musical?
And do we have to send you sheetmusic?
Broadway Star Joined: 7/24/07
no sheet music is need. A judge can submit but will not judge their own pieces.

I'm in the middle of writing a comedy musical called "Alpha Male" about how masculinity is treated in the workplace. I'd love to throw it in the mix to get some feedback on it.

Was that a no to sheet music or a yes?
I got confused!
I'd love to be a judge!
