Posted: 5/11/09 at 3:47pmI just watch a moving documentary called Secret Lives: Hidden Children and Their Rescuers During WWII (2003). It was made by a hidden child survivor with interviews of many former hidden children. Some were able to reunite with their former rescue families. As my sister-in-law was a hidden child in Poland from the ages of 2-7, this topic has always interested me. I found it on Netflix, in case any one else is interested.

Posted: 5/19/09 at 9:35amActually a different Irena! I made the same mistake...that movie Irena's Children was on TV a few weeks ago and I realized there were actually TWO Irenas risking their lives to save Jews during WWII!

Posted: 5/20/09 at 10:05amthat is true. there were two irena's and both saved lives during the war and oddly enough both had daughters named janina. i saw Irena's Vow last week. I was moved. I dont agree with the critics and no one has to agree with me we each have an opinion and we are entitled to it. But i thought the show was wonderful. Yes there are some flaws in the writing, but it is a true story and Tovah Feldshuh gives the best performance on Broadway. I recommend this show to everyone. Again, my opinion and if you disagree please dont call me names. I am a theatre not a critic
