I can't believe it's been 13 years. What's even more unbelievable to me is that in these past 13 years so much has changed and yet so much has stayed exactly the same and even gotten worse.

Has it really been that long? Wow. And you're right about things getting worse in some ways. But, I hope it's one of those "it's always darkest right before they turn on the lights" things.

13 years and we've learned little. Senseless, cruel deaths continue. RIP all victims of heinous crimes, whether or not our government calls them crimes.

Progress has certainly been made, but it's far from complete. May we all hope for more progress and equality.
