I thought there was a thread about this but since searching has become nearly impossible, here's a new thread.
Did anyone watch the most recent episode? Baby Josie was born at 25 weeks weighing in at 1 lb 6 oz. Michelle had a c-section after having gallstones and really high blood pressure.
Maybe it's about time for her to stop having kids???
G-d bless them; they are all well behaved and seem like a great family but enough is enough. We get the point...Michelle is obviously very fertile. I think the point was proven many kids ago.
Birth control was invented for a reason.
Their oldest child just had his first kid so now Michelle and Jim Bob are grandparents as well as new parents-- again.

On a separate note...
All of their kids are the most well behaved, mature, kind-hearted, loving children I've ever seen. Once in a while the little ones are wild but what else do you expect. The older ones take care of the little ones like their own children.
They are home schooled, very religious and rarely leave their town; but to have that many children so well behaved is somewhat amazing to me.
I agree I guess. But the whole thing is just so weird to me.
Did you see when they were on "Say Yes to the Dress" Strangest episode of that show I've seen.
I saw that episode. Yeah, they were picking out ugly dresses.
Anyway, I do think this kid should be their last. I think this wasn't her first c-section, so that would be enough to turn me off from having more kids.
Not only were they picking out ugly dresses, but then they made them put that "dickie" type fabric in the front to cover any cleavage, which made the dresses look even uglier!

Stockard- No, I didn't see them on that show...I don't really watch "Say Yes to the Dress" although I can completely see them covering up anything that could be taken to look a little "showy."
I mean, after all, the girls warn the boys by saying "Nike" as a code word for them to look downward when an immodestly dressed girl passes by.
That is, when they leave their own little Dugger town.
They live by the passage, "Be fruitful and multiply." They believe they are supposed to have as many children as God will bless them with. This will probably not be her last.
They don't watch tv. They are home schooled. They took the kids to Dollywood and the mom and kids didn't know who Dolly Parton was beyond her name. Michelle said, "I don't know. Was she on Hee Haw?" Then they acted like it was such an honor to meet Dolly. I feel sorry for them to an extent. The kids know nothing outside of the bible and their family. Now the oldest son is going to raise the exact same kind of family. I can tell one of the girls is going to rebel, though. I think it's Jinger. You can just kind of see it in her eyes.
JG2, I totally feel sorry for those kids.
Sure, the parents are a little bit strange and we may not agree with their beliefs, but I have to say, I think their kids are adorable.
I've been saying it for years. There are going to end up being so many of them someday that they are going to forget they are related and them you get incest.
Yeah, I'm waiting for one of the kids to end up getting shunned someday. These kids are just not thinking of anything else other than having a family. That's great, but what if they don't end up married or not for a very long time? What will they do in the meantime?
Yes, Jinger is totes the kid most likely to abandon the family and run away to the big city with Crazy Cousin Amy.

It took me way too long to figure out what "totes" meant.
Joy Anna also seems like she could be a little rebellious.
I think moving from a lot of kids to incest is a stretch. They know lots of families like theirs.
Rarely leave their town? They go to New York every few months for appearances on the Today show and had a whole hour-special on their cross-country road trip. During the series, they show them traveling every few episodes, to go to events or visit friends.
They know birth control was invented for a reason, they just disagree with its use for religious reasons. Abortion was invented for a reason too- would you suggest someone get one against their religious beliefs?
At least two of the buys out of the bunch have to be gay..that will be interesting
I seemed to catch a marathon of this show yesterday...I was just too lazy to change the channel and then I found myself mesmerized by this insanity. Of course my 1st question is how do you afford this many kids? I mean what does Jim Bob do? I think of those wonderful women out there who can't have children and here is someone spitting them out. Doesn't seem fair. If they don't want to use birth control someone needs to teach them the rhythm method...for those of you interested in this method...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calendar-based_methods
Now if they don't like that can't someone please tell them about *whispers* oral sex. Yea, I was thinking with all those kids there will have to be a few who are gay...how is this God loving family going to handle that? Stay tuned!!!
Boobs, they WANT that many children. It's the belief system they and many of their friends have. They attended a seminar years ago called Financial Freedom or something and it changed their lives. They are completely debt free. It took them three years to built their home because they built it as they could pay for it. I don't think they really talk about what Jim Bob does. Must be cocaine.
I believe Jim Bob owns a lot of property and rents it out, and I'm sure that TLC is paying them a good amount as well.
JG2...LOL just imagining Jim Bob as a coke dealer. Now we know why he goes to El Salvador so much.
MM, I am sure TLC pays them a lot...that is why they keep having them. What would the show be like if they stopped?
When Jim Bob and Michelle first got married they worked together at a used car dealership that they owned. They have had several odd jobs over the years but right now their main source of income is several commercial properties that they own and rent out. As others have said I'm sure TLC is paying them as well. I don't necessarily understand their religious beliefs fully but they seem like nice people. They also buy almost everything used from thrift stores and I'm sure the kids share a lot of their clothing, so even though they are a very large family they don't seem to be in the vein of those global-warming doubters who think the Earth is theirs to trash.
I guess this will have to be updated:
Maybe that's why I find Jim Bob so creepy. I have no idea why, but there is just something that creeps me out about him.
I think this wasn't her first c-section, so that would be enough to turn me off from having more kids.
I don't understand this point.
I think that a lot of their beliefs are incredibly sexist and "backwards," but I don't actually think any of the children will be "shunned" if they don't choose to follow the Quiverfull movement. In fact, I'm almost positive I read somewhere that the oldest son and his wife aren't sure they want that many children.
Does anyone else think Jim Bob looks like a life size Lego man?
I'm pretty sure the family before they became the what they are now that their house was on one of those makeover shows so they got on the corporate welfare train and do not have to pay their mortgage or something to that effect.
Jim Bob served in the Arkansas state assembly but now runs that seminar which I am sure makes more money than his former job which usually was roughly about six-figures. They make most of their money on commercial properties: themselves. They're a circus family complete with the clown car known as Michelle's uterus.
What I meant about the c-sections is, unless you choose to have one, they are usually done with risky pregnancies. Since I believe this might be the 3rd one Michelle Duggar has had in a row, it might be time to think about the health risks of having more children. I know if I kept having risky pregnancies, I wouldn't want to attempt more.
