19 year-old son of lesbian moms speaks to Iowa legislature

Zach Wahls is a 19 year-old Iowa college student, who has been raised by his two moms. His moms married under the recent ruling by the Iowa Supreme Court, but this ruling is being challenged by the state legislature. They're proposing a ballot measure to limit marriages and civil unions to one man and one woman. The good news is that this guy gave a wonderful speech to the legislature. The bad news is that the legislators ignored him, and passed the bill putting the measure on a future ballot.

The Iowa House did, but it has virtually no chance of passing in their Senate. I'm hoping the incredible amount of attention brought by this young man - and the wave of support he's gotten - shines a light on the bigotry.

Oh, and the video itself is going viral at a meteoric rate.

Amazing! What a fine young man...so well spoken. I'd be proud to have him for a son. I want him for President...now!
