*bows to the wonderful people who voted for Brokeback Mountain and Squid and the Whale*
Yea, seriously! I thought THE PRODUCERS would win on here, just because it's a Broadway board. However, THE PRODUCERS got only three votes. Nathan Lane received only two for Best Actor.
You scared the **** outta me when you took so long (four minutes, but still!) to post the BP winners.
The only winner that I'm shocked about is Naomi Watts. Still, with Brokeback winning every other category, I can't complain.

See, obviously you understand the significance of the Munky's.
Interestingly enough - out of ALL the categories - the only nominee that didn't score a single vote was GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK for Best Picture.
Really? I'm surprised about that. I thought that movie had some serious supporters on this board.
I liked GN&GL a lot, but it was a little too cold for my taste. But, what do I know? It's the best-reviewed movie of the year.
Interesting! I think the fact that only one item didn't score any votes speaks pretty highly of your nominees, Munk.
Now I regret not having seen The Squid and the Whale this week.
Wow. Pleasantly surprised to see all the love for KING KONG.
Fascinating.
Now, will Jake get the supporting actor nomination in the Oscar race? His appearance on Leno last night -- very successfull -- seemed part of the shrewd campaign. He's in the Geena Davis/ACCIDENTAL TOURIST, Katherine Zeta-Jones/CHICAGO category: a lead that is being moved down to enhance his chances, and his costars. (You didn't see this happen with TEMRS OF ENDEARMENT, when Debra Winger being bumped might've won her the supporting Oscar; competing with McLaine, she didn't really have a chance.)
It won't happen, but Naomi Watts really should get an Oscar nomination for her radiant performance in KING KONG. It would be the first genre nod in that category since Sigourney Weaver in ALIENS (and Watts is much better here).
Weaver should have won for Aliens, but that's by the by.
I agree -- Weaver was fantastic. And I think Watts is even better. It's a shame that the Academy only recognizes either dramatic or "comedy with an aching heart" performances, both of which are becoming little more than Oscar-bait.
I'll repeat a kudos for the people who voted for Squid and the Whale...now if only the film would get more attention for other awards...
Good choices! I'm glad that RENT got some love - I think Rosario did a fantastic job in the movie, although others seem to think differently...
Rosario was very good in RENT. With better direction, she could have been brilliant.
