Lea Michele v Caissie Levy Tony Race

So it’s looking like Levy is pretty close to a lock? She was very good, but I feel like the category is just super weak this season. :(

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW reviews

I'm not sure what the rationale was for putting Hsu in Leading Actress, but I feel like she could've had a really good chance in Featured. (To be fair, I haven't seen Chess).

Encores 2027: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; Hallelujah, Baby!; Kiss of the Spider Woman

walnutoraroach said: "If this is not the revival version, there IS no Sally."

I was so excited for this, until I read the part about the '87 orchestrations. Still can't wait to see it, but I feel the revival benefited from Sally and the revamped score.

Gillian Anderson & Billy Crudup to star in West End VIRGINIA WOOLF, dir. Marianne Elliott

If this doesn't transfer, I stg...

Tilda Swinton to reprise stage role in Manfred Karge's MAN TO MAN in London and New York in 2026-2027

I'm genuinely surprised, she has said many times she doesn't enjoy doing theatre. Having said that, I will absolutely be there.

RAGTIME 2025 Previews

rachelfran said: "I wonder what i missed with Uranowitz. This is the character that I would most relate to, and I didn't get anything from him. I found the whole show came to life when Josh Henry was on the stage and otherwise was muted. Maybe it's the night I saw, and they've settled in better since."

I agree insofar as I thought he was the standout at NYCC, but when I saw the Broadway production several days ago, it felt like he somehow took a step back

Casting Announcements for NYCC Encores 2026

So excited for Jasmine. I imagine she's excited to work on some darker material, I think she'll be great.

Tim Hughes dragging Jordan Donica

Not a good look, at all. And also, I’ve never, ever, even once thought of Joe Hardy as a dancing role. Maybe things are a little different with this new production.

Will we ever see a Broadway revival of August: Osage County?

ErmengardeStopSniveling said: "After her terrifying, hilarious role in WEAPONS, it dawned on me that I would like to see Amy Madigan as Violet Weston (even just in a regional production)."

YES.

Yikes.

NYT: Williamstown Theater Festival Was in Crisis. Here’s How It’s Changing.

Was seated for today’s matinee of “Not About Nightingales”, when the house lights came on and we were told to exit the theatre due to a “medical emergency.”

No idea who was affected, hope they are okay. Rebooked my ticket for this Friday.

The Outsiders - what shape is it in?

BentleyB said: "We did see Brody Grant’s understudy in June and I think it actually was a bit more exciting because of this."

Not trying to be funny, but the more I hear about Brody's attendance record, the more shocked I am that I got to see him well into the run.

Boop Closing July 13

Very glad I saw this. Such a charming and well-crafted piece of escapism, and Jasmine Amy Rogers is destined for a great career.

Articulation issues at Floyd Collins

I was in the center mezzanine, fourth row in, had no issue understanding any of the dialogue or lyrics.

Scores that should have been nominated for a Tony, but weren't

Boop’s score is better than Death Becomes Her. I said what I said.

AUDRA GYPSY Reviews

FolliesCabaret said: "Which I also find unfair, not only because 60% of the voting committee had to vote for him to win (it could have gone to nobody!) Butalso, who was going to win against him? Issac Cole Powell? Robert Joy? Chris McCarrell?Daniel J. Watts? I don't believe anybody should have an asterisknext to their Tony win, but some people act like there was this mammoth, magical, fantastic leading male in a musical performance that Covidcut short or something. Unless I'm

2025 Tony Awards Reactions Thread

PipingHotPiccolo said: "i loved Maybe Happy Ending but its magic was the complete sum of its parts- its score is underwhelming on its own, and that performance did it no favors in that regard.

if the Tonys were actually about merit, Score would have gone to Yazbeck or the brilliant minds at Mincemeat, which is no dig at the wonder that is MHE.
"

Agreed. I would’ve given score to Dead Outlaw, book to Mincemeat, Direction and Musical to MH

Really enjoyed “Purpose”, and it was my least favorite of the nominees. That’s how strong the year was.
