I usually read Trip Advisor before booking a hotel room. These people should have done the same.
I swear by tripadvisor! Did you see the Hotel Carter pics???
EW!!!!
Only one place in Wildwood made the list? Recount!
How has the Hotel Carter not been shut down by the Health Department?? Those pictures are appalling.

New York Inn's pics are pretty great, too.
These reviews and photos of all the hotels terrify me. With the numerous reports and photos of bedbugs alone, I don't understand how Hotel Carter is allowed to stay open. Who is on the take in the city and how does this continue? I wonder what recourse the guests have for discovering such health hazards. And wasn't there just a national story on the horrific conditions at Hotel Carter as well?
Eww. The Hotel Carter should probably just be condemned. I've never stayed there, but never ever plan on it because of those gross pictures. I think I'd rather sleep outside than there.
Jesus! Thank you tripadvisor!
I think.

Made the mistake of booking the New York Inn in 2001...before I knew Trip Advisor existed...and was out of there in about 30 minutes. Dark and dirty and when I asked to see another room, they showed me one with no bedspreads (just sheets) and a small army of bugs in the shower.
Goodbye...
Ew, I thought the Edison was bad............
Meanwhile, three Days Inns made the cut.
I've mentioned how disgusting the Carter is before on this board. I cringe just remembering how vile that place smelled.
The lobby of the Cater looks like trashy Vegas! HOLY CRAP those pictures are a nightmare, my favorite picture is the close up of the sheets that are stamped "Florida Hospital 1990."
"Tawdry" is the word that came to mind when I first saw the Carter lobby. "Death trap" is what came to mind when I used the elevators.
All those pictures of the guests skin!!!! GROSS!!!! NEVER EVER would I stay there.

I stayed at Hotel Carter for 2 hours and checked out because it was so dirty
I think the picture of the wig that was found in the dresser did it for me.
