Posted: 2/27/09 at 11:42amThese reviews and photos of all the hotels terrify me. With the numerous reports and photos of bedbugs alone, I don't understand how Hotel Carter is allowed to stay open. Who is on the take in the city and how does this continue? I wonder what recourse the guests have for discovering such health hazards. And wasn't there just a national story on the horrific conditions at Hotel Carter as well?

Posted: 2/27/09 at 12:07pmEww. The Hotel Carter should probably just be condemned. I've never stayed there, but never ever plan on it because of those gross pictures. I think I'd rather sleep outside than there.

Made the mistake of booking the New York Inn in 2001...before I knew Trip Advisor existed...and was out of there in about 30 minutes. Dark and dirty and when I asked to see another room, they showed me one with no bedspreads (just sheets) and a small army of bugs in the shower.
