re: '2012' - Mind and ass-numbingly awful

I can't believe I just spent two and a half hours sitting thru this piece of sh*t.

It was really 2.5 hours? I don't want to see it anymore. Thanks Dan.

It's actually two hours and thirty-EIGHT minutes - and depending on the number of previews attached (which were a LOT in the theater I saw it in,) you are easily pushing three hours of your time spent.

I had fun. Then again, it was free. I have a friend with plebeian tastes who gets me in to free movies and it's always a lot of fun. Next week, free New Moon.

Plus, I'm still totally hot for Chiwetel Ejiofor.

i actually enjoyed this movie... wasn't expecting too but i did... of course the scenes were ridiculously over the top but hey... like people say this ain't Picture of the Year material... i would've liked the movie to have been maybe a half hour shorter... i don't think they needed to add that underwater sequence in the ark or the stuff on the ocean liner... oh and i laughed so hard when the Russian dude gathered enough strength to "throw" his heavy son onto the ark... that looked incredibly fake and i couldn't stop laughing!!!

and Roland Emmerich really loves to save dogs in his movies!

and I actually like that Adam Lambert song from the movie

but I was hoping for something a bit less cliched than every single ScyFy Channel film. Something a bit more serious, and engrossing. Something different

name one emmerich movie that is less cliched than every single scyfy film, a bit more serious, and engrossing, something different.

that's what i thought.

remember, this is the man whose aliens failed in their conquest of earth because their computers were apple-compatible.

Thread-jack: this is what a marketing gimmick will do:
The genre is SciFi
The channel is Syfy

Seriously, going to a Roland Emmerich movie for intellectual satisfaction will leave you seriously dissatisfied.

We saw it today & it was a good way to kill a few hours.

It was over the top & after awhile the effects start to look like they are computer generated. The story was not bad for this type of genre.
