Love Jason, and love his program!

I'm so sad that Marai isn't going to the Olympics, but I understand why (sort of, LOL). She skated really well, but it was passionless. I've been a big fan of hers since the 2010 Olympics (where I thought she should have received the bronze medal), and it's too bad she wasn't able to live up to her potential. Ashley does deserve to go, although I must say that I've never been a big fan of hers. I don't dislike her, I just have never been particularly moved by her.

Johnny Weir - I think he may end up being a good commentator (possum-hair aside, LOL).

Tara Lapinski - She will probably be a good commentator too, although I have a hard time watching her because I so wanted Michelle Kwan to win that medal, LOL. (And let's not mention Sarah Hughes.)

LaurenB, you and I are on the same page when it comes to Sarah and Tara. I don't recall either of them skating competitively after the Olympics, whereas, Michele skated to defend her numerous titles time after time. Sarah and Tara skated the program of their lives when it counted and that's about it.

I was at both events on Saturday. I took my niece to the pairs free skate/ice dance free dance, while my Dad and I went to the Ladies free skate. My niece had a blast and is now a HUGE fan of the Shibutanis.

My favorite moments from the pairs/ice dance were Davis/White's free dance, Castelli/Shnapir's skate on what was pretty much home ice for them, and Zhang/Bartholomay's skate.

As for the Ladies Free Skate, Gracie Gold was amazing and she deserved to win. I also really enjoyed Samantha Cesario's and Courtney Hicks's programs. I would have been nice if both had done better in the short program. It would have made for an interesting Free Skate. I wish Ashley Wagner would go back to a program like her Black Swan from the 2011-2012 season. Even if she had skated better on Saturday I still wouldn't be a fan of her free skate for this year.

Count me in as a Jason Brown fan. That program is amazing I can't wait to see that free skate at the Olympics.

The towel waving reminded me of a Per?nist rally. I kept chanting "Evita!" whenever they'd pan to the crowds. - SM2

I think Tara and Johnny did a good job, and was surprised! They interrupted appropriately, imo, unlike Scott who loves to hear himself talk. SHUT UP!! We know the second half of the long program is tough and the skater's legs are "burning", "like jelly", etc. SHUT UP!

So sad about Marai! She did skate well, but that program is just not very good. Ashley is not skating in top form this season, so I'm hoping she is ready to peak at Sochi...and I agree, her program is not that great. VERY smart of Frank Carroll to do a new short for Gracie! It was great!

The highlights were still Davis/White's free dance and Jason Brown's long program, which he won! He deserved to win, imo. I hope he has a great olympics!

I dont see anyone from the US team medalling, except for Davis/White...but you never know....Sarah Hughes...

Nagasu is still devastated and confused about why she is not going to Sochi or the World Championships.

I feel so much for Mirai, and I hope she keeps it together to kill it next season!
These decisions are so difficult and I can't believe it will do the US team any good going into the games. Wagner is our best hope, but she has a cloud over her now. That is too much pressure, IMO. I don't expect the ladies we are sending to medal, but Godspeed ladies!

As long as Costner doesn't win, I'll be happy.
