BTW,

1) Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is back for Season 3 on CW. If you want something different you should check this out. Here's the season 3 premiere:

2) Seems like "Riverdale" is now the place to be on Wednesday. The 2nd season returned with quadruple ratings increases; believed to be due to the 1st season's release on streaming services. It's definitely above average for a "teen drama"; acting and cast, stories are compelling. Also on CW. Here's the season 2 premiere.

3) "Better Things" on FX

You should absolutely watch this show.

A single mom raising three girls and her mother; a former child star in LA; even former child stars like Henry Thomas from E.T. add to the character mix...

A true original, Created and developed by Pamela Adlon and Louis C.K. Adlon also directed every episode this Season 2; Season 1 is streaming on Hulu. PA was also nominated for Best Actress Emmy for 1st season...this is a great little show. Watch it!

Oh, how could I forget "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" on BBCAmerica...?

Here's a good background interview from the BUILD series in NYC. Elijah Wood and Samuel Barnett discuss some of season 2; this series is not for everyone, but it's totally different, fun, a giant jigsaw puzzle....great cast including Dustin Milligan (Schitt's Creek) playing the biggest and best (but adorable) IDIOT buffoon ever!! He's a scream in the S2 premiere...with "Dirk Gently", be prepared for something different!

I won't apologize for loving Riverdale. It feels like a love letter to the insane genre-bending and melodrama of the original Twin Peaks (especially the wildly divisive Season 2).

Hmm, now you have me intrigued about Riverdale. I admit I just don't get the existence of this show. I could understand a straight-forward, comedic, live-action Archie series, and I could understand a darker, more serious animated Archie series, but a dark, live-action Archie series is baffling to me.

I'm disappointed in The Good Doctor, too. I was originally looking forward to it.

I feel like they're over-using the Sherlock technique - visuals to demonstrate Shaun Murphy's thought processes - and they're not as creatively produced as those done in Sherlock.

Also, I find it completely unbelievable that so many characters do not recognize the characteristics of Shaun's autism and make allowances. Even if they don't recognize it as autism, I don't feel like so many characters wouldn't see the lack of harmful intent that Freddy Highmore is playing as the character. People just (generally) aren't as rude and unforgiving, as a whole, when confronted with the type of character Highmore is exhibiting.

I'm also put off by how Highmore's character is scripted as being so consistently "magical". So far, he has saved the day, in the eleventh hour, 100% of the time - and only in the eleventh hour, and only because he seems to be surrounded by apparently not-as-educated, inflexibly-minded colleagues.

Hork, I might also describe Riverdale as what Ryan Murphy would be making today if the mainstream success of Glee hadn't softened his abrasively stylized, macabre-camp vision. If you liked the horror-soap excesses of Nip/Tuck, you'll immediately take to Riverdale.

I saw episode 1 of Young Sheldon (not a fan of BBT) and it was sort of cute but I haven't kept up with it.

The Good Doctor was kind of insulting to people with autism and just way below the quality of House.

Caught episode 3 of Kevin (Probably) Saves the World. Not as good but it reminds me of shows like Pushing Daisies, Dead Like Me, and other less quirky procedurals. Some light humor without too much "magic" in this one. I might stick with it and it'll probably get cancelled.

Sold! I loved Nip/Tuck. Well, the first couple of seasons anyway. Eventually it just got too soapy and trashy for me, and I quit watching.
