I recently re-watched season 5 (day 5) of 24. I cannot get over the performance Jean Smart gives as the first lady. She is one Crazy Lady in the begining, which is made out to be the nut, when in fact she is the smartest. I really thought she gave one helluvah performance.

She and Gregory Itzkin were both amazing that season.

i still think season 2 of '24' was the best one, but Season 5 was a very very close second. jean smart and gregory were incredible. i thought they deserved emmy's that year for sure. i love that show. every season except the last which i didnt make it thru because i thought it was awful. looking forward to sunday's "movie" and the upcoming 7th season.
