warning!!!
this post contains what some would consider a spoiler.
if you have not seen this movie, the 40 year old virgin, you may not wish to read further.
you have been warned.
seriously.
ok, now that that's out of the way. since i already alluded to it in another thread, was anyone here offended by the "you know how i know you're gay" scene?

I wasn't offended, but I'm not gay.
"You know how I know you're gay? Because you know if other people are gay!"
I ahven't seen it. I feel like such a rebel reading on when I shouldn't be.

Not at all - I thought it was funny. It was also interesting to see the "extra" on the DVD that shows how that scene evolved. Why do you ask - have you encountered anyone who thought it was actually offensive?

Papa, it's a tough call. I do get pissed at straight comedians making gay jokes, but since it fit in with these guys characters, I think it's OK.
Who am I kidding? I loved it cause he said "I know you're gay cause you listen to Coldplay" and caused a theater full of hetero hipsters to gasp "WHAT? NO WAY!"
I'm with Joe. Mixed feelings.
It was funny, but it's old. It's been done.
But really and truly, it was unnecessary.
But it was still funny.
Yeah, the Coldplay one was really funny. I enjoy them and all, but I was watching a friend who was chuckling through the whole series of lines and abruptly stopped at that one. Very funny!

I can't help it, I laughed so hard, especially in the extended footage part of the DVD. "You know how I know you're gay? You have a rainbow bumper sticker that says 'I like it when b*** are in my face.'" "That's gay?" The whole movie kills me. Steve Carell and Seth Rogen are so fantastic.
Sorry to get off topic for a moment, but I LOOOVE your icon, cabarethed! What a fox!

Isn't that the HOTTEST picture? Ahh!
I thought it was funny when they referenced RENT, especially with RENT being about to come out in theaters soon after.

What about the number from HAIR at the end - with the Twyla Tharp choreography?
The HaiR bit was a hoot!! Carrell said it was a musical number was the only thing they could think of to close the movie with.

It might become a tradition - since Carrell and Paul Rudd also participated in the big "Afternoon Delight" number in ANCHORMAN.
The best movie of last year. I am disappointed that it didn't get the recognition it deserved.

Hilarious.
And I didn't find it offensive at all. Kinda stupid, but sometimes it was funny.
KELLY CLARKSON!
