Saw the first performance last night and really enjoyed it. If you are familiar with Cole Escola’s work and are a fan of their very specific comedic sensibility, this show delivers and I highly recommend it.

Saw the second preview from the front mezz (which was a great spot) and I thought Comer's performance was fantastic. Cannot fathom what it must be like to do that 8 times per week. I wasn't able to wait at the stage door but they do have it barriered off and there were people waiting for her, and an SUV waiting on the curb, so I assume she did come out.

Saw this last night on a total whim knowing nothing about it, and enjoyed it overall. I wish I'd known Arielle Jacobs was otherwise engaged. Aubrey Matalon was very good, but I suspect Jacobs gives a better performance. Vicki Lewis was also out. Jake David Smith was by far the standout of the production in terms of the cast. Saw Max tonight and agree with all the praise for him in this thread. I've seen the show a few times with Hugh already (all with rush tickets after the first time), and it was definitely worth seeing Max's take. If they put him on during Hugh's upcoming vacation, I highly recommend going then just to see how he does it. Also recommend going the rush ticket route - I strolled up to the Box Office at 11 am and there was no wait and I got a great seat for $49 (L 12).For someone who asked earlier...

Caught the 2 p.m. performance today (I live a 5 min walk from the venue, and it's only an hour long show). Definitely aimed at young children, but if you're a grown-up who loves the Winnie the Pooh characters, it's sufficiently charming. I was at the performance, and I'm glad they said something in retrospect, though at the time the announcement was made, I thought it was jarring. Also, there are no red ruby slippers in WICKED. When Nessarose receives them from her father, she refers to them as "jeweled shoes." While they are silver-colored, in the scene where Elphaba casts a spell on them, they glow red. It's a clear reference to the ruby slippers from the movie, especially combined with Nessarose's black-and-white-striped stockings, evoking the iconic image of the Wicked Witch of the East's legs sticking out from underneath Dorothy's house.

So I am assuming it is okay to sell tickets for above the face value for Broadway shows on eBay, as long as it is within a certain amount? Glinda refers to herself as an unelected official (ref 2000 election) It was Nessarose who said that. Interesting; I never saw it as a reference to that, but it's quite possible.

I disagree - I did think it was integral to the story. I didn't see the Broadway production, but in the Boston version, the nudity did add something that would be missing without it. And I don't say that out of enjoyment of the nudity, because the guy was nothing special. It represents extreme vulnerability on the part of the character at a key moment in the plot.
