Perhaps, Namo, but that's exactly the sort of digging, comparison and contrast I was trying to avoid. That link does not address the statute of limitations; one has to click on numerous additional links.

Now that you've lured me to where I didn't want to go: as I understand it, in 2002 Collins was discussing events of the early 1970s involving children of 10 to 12. So his victims would have been 30 to 32 by the time the info was disclosed in therapy. If you follow links to the California statutes, that is beyond the statute of limitations for sex abuse as a criminal offense. (Civil culpability lasts longer, but mandatory reporting isn't required for civil liability.)

So if--big IF--I have all the dates straight, Collins' therapist was not required to report the abuse by the time she knew of it.

The line you quote was just a joke. If anything it was a compliment in that I value you as a poster such that I felt compelled to look up info I didn't otherwise care to acquire. (Not your fault, obviously.)
