Alternatively the arline could have forced the plane to take off only to have some essential part shatter due to the weather and you, Mrs R and some 300 other people would have ditched into the Atlantic ocean and DIED.
No doubt,you'd have found a way to post postmortem that the airline should NEVER have tried to take off in such terrible weather.
Life is complicated how you deal with the complictions will determine how much or little you enjoy your life or mere existance.

I mean, I dont like flying in any inclement weather, so it always astounds me when there is a snowstorm, high winds, or torrential downpours and people are so angry they arent going anywhere. By all means, get on the plane and crash. Knock yourself out! I'll be reading a book in the bar or Ill reschedule.

^ I get what you are saying. My uncle and aunt were supposed to come up from Tennessee this week, but opted not to because they were driving.
And then I know someone else who was driving up from Virginia and was complaining that she had to spend a night or two in a hotel because it was too risky to drive in. She made it home, but definitely knew about the bad weather before she left her house, of all places.

I feel your pain Mr. R but there is no brand loyalty. I think people go on Travelocity and other similar sites and just buy the cheapest ticket.
Maybe that's also part of the problem.
