A Question About Philly [restaurants, Franklin, Kimmel]
#1A Question About Philly [restaurants, Franklin, Kimmel]

I'm not overly familiar with the logistics of the city because I don't go there frequently. Tomorrow, some friends and I are going to the Narnia exhibit at the Franklin Institute during the day, then seeing Rent at the Kimmel Center at night. What is the easiest way to get from one to the other? MapQuest says it's only 1.17 miles, so is it better to walk, or is there a bus, or is a taxi relatively cheap split between three people?
Also, what are some good eateries in the area where we'll be?
(Oh, and before I forget, can you stagedoor at the Kimmel Center? If so, where is it?)
Thank you for any help!

Yes, you could walk from the Franklin Institute to the Kimmel Center, but on a cold (possibly wet) day, I wouldn't recommend it. A taxi split 3 ways is the way to go. There are lots of resturants in the area. Not sure about the stage door. I've only ever seen The Philadelphia Orchestra at Kimmel, and never felt compelled to go to the stage door! Also, is the show at Kimmel or The Academy of Music?

Posted: 2/2/09 at 5:05pmI am also from Philly. I agree, if it is cold, take a cab. The show is at the Academy of Music according to the website. The stagedoor, unless they moved it, is on Locust street side of the building.
