re: A Sad Day in NYC

It's sad that I can see into the future, me after happy hour-ing in Chelsea, stumbling into 7-11 for a Slupee- half cherry, half Coke.

Can Wawa's be far behind?

I have always been more of an Icee girl. I loved going to WalMart when I was little so I could get a Coke Icee.

And on another front...the Krispy-Kreme on West 72 street closed last weekend.

They couldn't make a go of it in the sugar-and-carb consciuous (and sky-high rents) Upper West Side.

Question: If 7-11 is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Why are there locks on the doors?

If it were in my neighborhood, I'd definitely stop in for a Slurpee somtimes.

re: A Sad Day in NYC

NYC isn't suburbia... it's the City, therefore, none of this Wal-Mart/7-11 thing should even exist.

I'm with whoever said they'll stick with Jamba Juice.

re: A Sad Day in NYC

But Jamba Juice is totally a sign of impending suburbia!

We're importing Los Angeles. Jamba, Whole Foods (which I love), Trader Joe's to open soon, obviously Starbucks and GAP on every corner.

I'm waiting for The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

re: A Sad Day in NYC

LA is one huge, sprawling suburb. It may have more activity, but that's what it essentially is. Houses, lawns, driving everywhere.

re: A Sad Day in NYC

MEF- Trader Joe's is supposed to open on Union Sq. Can you imagine? Organic Overload. There's already a ginormous Whole Foods there not to mention the Farmer's Market.

I do LOVE TJ's also though.

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf rocks!

And is there a Trader Joe's coming? Dang! Maybe I won't end up having to move back west, it's all coming to me! Jamba rocks, Whole Foods is great, and Trader Joe's might finally move in from Jersey.

Finding out that there is a Trader Joe's coming has totally made my day. re: A Sad Day in NYC

There are 711's in Boston and that's a big city. Even though I spend a lot of time in NYC, I am a Long Island girl and we LOVE ore 711!

"Question: If 7-11 is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Why are there locks on the doors?"

Because if the store is ever robbed, the employees are allowed to lock the doors while they are being questioned by the police. In fact, I think the police prefer it.

OTA, as I said earlier, Slurpees give me brain freeze. And SamIAm, we have an Orange Julius at our mall.
