A Toast: On the Occasin of my 50th Bday!

Yes, this Sat Jul 9th I turn the big 50. So I would like to acknowledge the board on this momentous occasion by quoting Sondheim:
"But us, old friend,
What's to discuss, old friend,
Here's to us,
Who's like us?
Damn Few!
Salut!

Cheers to being 50 years young!!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

Congratulations on reaching the half century mark! I was 51 before my first trip to NYC and my first Broadway show and now I'm addicted. I'm enjoying life more now than in my 30's and 40's! Have a great birthday!

A very, VERY happy birthday - from one who just recently turned 55. See? No matter how old you think you are, there's always somebody older nearby. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Aren't "occasins" something that Indians wore on their feet? And yours are made of toast?

I can't say that's very practical.
